Finally, Sanford’s lovely wife Jenny has issued a perfect statement. I am so glad that she didn’t stand next to him in the video above.
Her whole statement is great, but here are two bits:

I agree. the first thing that we have to do is to be aware that we are susceptible. Anybody can take a wrong turn.
the second thing that we have to do is realize that something like this happens in baby steps along the way.
He didn’t decide all at once to betray his wife, family, church, staff and state by going down to Argentina for a quickie. He made wrong turns all along the way beginning eight years ago.
The third thing is to obey God’s instruction book for marriage by respecting our husband and loving our wives and thus be God’s instrument for fulfilling the other’s deepest need.
